2013 Mazda CX-5 Exceeds Fuel-Economy Expectations

When a model surpasses even its own creator's expectations, you know it's going to be good. That's precisely how Dahl Mazda feels about the new 2013 Mazda CX-5. Granted we've always been a fan of the automaker's crossover offerings, including the Mazda CX-7 and Mazda CX-9. But when Mazda made its impressive fuel-economy predictions for the model in November 2011, we started to get extra giddy for the 2013 variant's spring release.

Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency has mounted anticipation even higher by announcing that the new CX-5 gets better fuel-economy than Mazda originally thought. Arguably the best in its class, the compact crossover SUV will offer drivers 35-mpg hwy/26-mpg city/29-mpg combined on its FWD 2.0-liter engine with six-speed manual transmission. Additional powertrain ratings are only slightly lower. Opting for the new six-speed automatic, drivers will get 32-miles per gallon on the highway while consumers seeking out all-wheel drive will only have to sacrifice 1-mpg from each category. All things considered, Dahl Mazda believes that's still pretty impressive.

Auto experts attribute the jump in mileage largely to the integration of SkyActiv engine technology. As the innovative automaker's "breakthrough engineering and manufacturing approach to its next generation of vehicles"1, the SkyActiv touch has already gained serious praise.

As we get closer to the upcoming Mazda CX-5 release date, Dahl Mazda at 712 4th Street South, La Crosse, WI promises to let you know more about pricing and availability. For now, be sure to check out our complete new Mazda lineup and contact us with any questions that might arise.
